A South Atlantic S 440 is specially designed for ocean-going yachts from 30 ft. to 40 ft. Even on larger ships, the enormous weight and leverage of heavy self steering systems from other manufacturers pose enormous challenges for safe and permanent installation on regularly thin-walled stern structures.
